About LumiCode

I'm Lumi, and I write LumiCode.

I'm currently a computer science student, working through my bachelor's degree. Before that, I did my intermediate studies with a strong focus on the fundamentals. But honestly, most of what I actually know about computers, networks, and everyday tech problems didn't come from a classroom. It came from spending years being the person friends and family call when something breaks, and from just being genuinely curious enough to dig into the "why" behind things most people accept as unexplainable tech magic.

I started this site for two reasons. First, writing about something forces you to actually understand it, not just recognize it. Explaining why a laptop's RAM matters more than its processor generation, or why your Wi-Fi slows down at the same time every night, means I have to genuinely understand the mechanism, not just repeat a rule of thumb I picked up somewhere. Second, I've been on the other side of this too many times: staring at a spec sheet or a settings menu with no idea what half the words mean, and finding either no explanation online or one written for someone who already has a computer science degree.

LumiCode exists for the space in between. Not a site for professional developers or IT admins, and not a site that talks down to beginners either. Just practical, tested explanations for the tech problems real people actually run into: slow computers, confusing router settings, questions about whether you really need that VPN subscription, backup strategies you'll actually stick to.

Everything published here gets tested on real hardware before it's written up. When an article says a fix worked, it's because I ran it myself, not because it sounded plausible. I'd rather publish fewer, more carefully checked articles than a large volume of generic advice.
